Leni (Helene) de Beer

Leni de Beer was second or third cousin of Leni (Bollegraaf) dwir-dasberg’s mother.

Leni Bollegraaf together with her brother Bernard (who lives in Holland) at the time were able to arrange for the grandparents of Jurjen Hoekstra to be recognized by “Yad Vashem” … they are the couple where Leni de Beer was hidden during the war.

Dear mr. Dykstra,

But I can tell you more about Leni (Helene) de Beer. Born in Zwolle (http://akevoth.org/genealogy/ndbcore/5438.htm). – her father died in 1917, her brother 10.08.1940 in Amsterdam. Her mother, Rosalie de Beer-Berna (19.04.1867 Burgsteinfurt) and her sister Sophie (28.05.1861) were married to two brothers from Winschoten: Mozes and Meijer de Beer – both died quite young. Rosalie en Sophie were brought to camp Westerbork 6.9.1942 and deported to Auschwitz a day later, were they were killed after arrival: 10.09.1942 (not 1943 as mentioned in the article). I have a picture of the De Beer-family included – Mozes, Rosalie and their two kids lived in Winschoten for a long time and there is a great book about the Jews in this small village.

Kind regards,
mrs. José Martin
